Landscape redesign in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood of Boone
This landscape renovation accompanied a complete house renovation. The roofline of the new front porch emphasized other existing horizontal lines in the architecture. The masonry retaining wall added along the street takes this even further, so that the resulting composition of house and landscape is striking assemblage of strong horizontal lines. In addition, a flat front yard was created, although the actual amount of turf is diminished. Layering of spaces from the road back to the house is accomplished by the addition of plantings on top of the wall.
